Our journey into camper van construction began unexpectedly when we relocated to Australia and found ourselves in need of a home. Inspired by the vibrant Vanlife community and their picturesque abodes, we embarked on our first conversion shortly after our move halfway across the globe. Despite lacking prior experience, we successfully crafted a mobile dwelling for ourselves, embracing the newfound freedom it offered as we journeyed for as long as our savings allowed. Our van symbolized liberation, and we believe everyone deserves to experience the sense of escape we felt during our time living in it, even if only for brief getaways.
Over time, our desire to construct more campers grew, leading to the establishment of CarpenterIngram Designs. We are deeply passionate about Vanlife and the accompanying sense of travel freedom. Nothing brings us greater joy than creating beautiful and practical means of travel for others, and we may even be more enthusiastic about your conversion project than you are! When you entrust us with building your camper, we collaborate closely with you to design the perfect interior. Customization options abound, from the choice of wood for the worktops to the placement of USB sockets. While we offer insights based on our experience, understanding your unique preferences and lifestyle is crucial for tailoring the conversion to your needs, thus building a strong rapport with you is integral to our process.
Our expertise spans projects of all sizes, whether it's a compact "car-derived van" or a sprawling, long-wheelbase, extra-high-roof behemoth. We take immense pride in our meticulous attention to detail; every component in our conversions is meticulously finished to the highest standard, regardless of whether it's visible to the eye.
