Bio
We are Euan, Rachel, and Fynnley (our dog), the team behind Moveable Routes. Rachel and I initially crossed paths as interior designers in our previous careers. With a combined experience of over 15 years in the field, we felt a yearning for change and sought to channel our design skills in a new direction. This led us to construct Gerty, our LWB Vauxhall Vivaro, and embark on a two-year journey across the UK, stretching as far as Mardin in eastern Turkey.
The experience of designing, building, and traveling in our humble campervan resonated deeply with us, solidifying our belief that this was our true calling. We were driven by a desire to share our design expertise with others and invite them to partake in the joy of van life.
As seasoned designers, we are adept at navigating a project from conception to completion. We thrive on the enthusiasm of our clients, finding inspiration in their ideas and translating them into tangible designs. Maximizing space in a campervan presents a delightful challenge, and we revel in devising innovative solutions that reflect our unique style and approach.
Rachel's role extends beyond being the logistical mastermind, adept seamstress, and chief painter. She finds solace in the outdoors, enjoying activities like walking the dog, running, and, weather permitting, open water swimming. Indoors, she indulges in hobbies like knitting, staying fit, and, of course, showering our furry companion with affection.
With a background spanning seven years in store-based interior design for supermarkets and home brands, Rachel brings a wealth of expertise to our team. From crafting overarching layouts to refining product placement and graphics, she spearheads the creation of inviting van interiors with a homely touch.
Euan's craftsmanship shines through in his woodworking prowess, which forms the backbone of Moveable Routes' projects. When not in the workshop, he can be found on the cricket pitch, where his dedication to the sport sees him playing most weekends, occasionally assuming the mantle of captaincy. His culinary adventures in the kitchen are matched only by his penchant for home improvement projects during the cricket off-season, demonstrating an innate ability to wield a drill with finesse.
With eight years of experience specializing in bespoke projects, Euan brings a unique flair to our van conversions. His attention to detail is evident in the intricate woodwork and ingenious solutions, whether it's the foldaway table or the perfectly placed kitchen spices.
