The summer of 2020 holds a special significance for Sunset Campers, marking the beginning of our journey. As a small, family-run business, it's primarily Richard at the helm. With a background in the motor industry since 1999, Richard's expertise in vehicle production and development is extensive. His passion for cars dates back to his early teens, where he first tinkered with vehicles alongside his father. At the age of 21, he constructed his first kit car in 2004, a skill he has since honed through numerous rebuilds for both himself and friends.
Both Richard and his wife Lucy share fond memories of camping holidays from their childhood. Lucy, now an adult, purchased her first campervan, a 1998 VW T4 Caravelle, which she converted into a camper for family adventures. Richard's enthusiasm for campervans blossomed in 2015 when he began working on his father-in-law's VW T5. Despite being converted by a professional company, Richard discovered several flaws in the workmanship and took it upon himself to rectify these issues. Driven by his perfectionist nature, he strives for nothing less than excellence in every project.
Changes in Richard's work situation in 2020 spurred the inception of Sunset Campers. Since then, our workshop has seen the satisfaction of numerous delighted customers. Richard's blend of mechanical expertise and meticulous attention to detail has proven highly successful. Our aim is to collaborate with you to ensure that your vision is realized flawlessly the first time around, allowing everyone to experience the joy of their campervans as much as we do. From initial consultations to the final product, a Sunset Campers Conversion promises not to disappoint.
