Bio
I'm Jonathan, and I'll be leading the conversion of your campervan. Let me share a bit about my background and the inception of West Wilts Campers!
My journey began as an Aeronautical Mechanical Engineer apprentice in 2008, where I eventually became a qualified aircraft mechanical engineer. Over the years, I gained extensive experience working on various aircraft types, including Hawks (Red Arrows), Chinooks, and Tornados, among others.
Although I wasn't part of the military, I worked for esteemed companies like Boeing and BAE Systems, providing aircraft maintenance services for military fleets. After a decade in the aerospace industry, I transitioned my focus to Formula 1. For four years, I worked with one of the most renowned Formula 1 teams, specializing in hydraulics and ensuring reliable gearbox performance. I'm proud to say that during my tenure, no hydraulic gearbox faults occurred.
The demanding and safety-critical nature of these industries instilled in me a commitment to precision and attention to detail. This ethos has been ingrained in me since my early apprenticeship days. While I loved my work in aerospace and Formula 1, the birth of my son prompted me to prioritize my work-life balance and spend more time with my family.
From a young age, I've had a passion for classic cars and have completed several restorations. Before starting my family, I also dabbled in camper van conversions during my free time. With the arrival of my son, I decided to pursue my dream of starting my own camper van conversion business, allowing me to achieve the work-life balance I desired.
Outside of work, I cherish spending time with my young family, including our adorable 3-year-old black Labrador, Roo. When not camping or enjoying family time, you'll find me on the golf course, indulging in mountain biking, or playing the saxophone in my covers band.
As a business, I prioritize accessibility, clear communication, and honesty with my clients. My goal is to establish West Wilts Campers as the preferred choice for family camper conversions, emphasizing safety, honesty, and transparent communication.
